Click here to watch a great clip that the ABC filmed on the Friday leading up to the MRA weekend.  It is a great insight into why our regatta is so popular with competitors.

MRA Catering - Lake & club

The rowing club not only performed well on the water over the past weekend, we also excelled off the water.

Sally Maclean and Kelly Ralph were ably helped by many people to man the soft drink stall all weekend.  Thanks to Wes & Gary for purchasing majority of the stock and to Stacey for making sense of the figures!!!

At the lake there were also other jobs that had to be done, bow numbers for all our crews was completed very well by Felicity Williams & Ian MacDonald.  Sunday saw Corowa responsible for manning of the bow numbers for all the rowers and thanks must go to Stacey & Demi with assistance from Bron, Leanne and Tracey for doing this job.

Please also realise that the biggest job of the whole weekend was completed by Chris Pensini and Stuart Pearsall from Corowa Rowing Club and Gary Milthorpe from Rutherglen Lake.....this job is of course the regatta secretary's job - not an easy task at one of the states biggest regatta's I am sure!

Then of course we held our annual dinner by the river on the Saturday night....this year records were broken - we feed 367 people from 7pm to 9.30pm.  We could not do this without everyone's donations of both food and time.  Special mention goes out to Food HQ (Gwynfor & Jill James) and Glenda Goyne who even though are not involved in the club day to day volunteered hours of work to ensure this dinner ran very smoothly.  I can't thank all our members personally as there are too many!!

Thanks must also go to Wes & Ding who coach all the crews that competed on the weekend, and to Cherie in her role as Vice Capitan assisting all who needed it.

This week saw Corowa host their first ever Youth Training Camp at the club.  Nagambie rowing club stayed and attended with Tim & Will Day (Australian lightweight Champions) and Renae Tattersall taking some training along with their coach Neville Smith.  Also from Nagambie several junior rowers attended.  This was a busy day and half down at the club, from training 7.30am Monday morning through to Pizza night Monday night, then back on water early Tuesday through to lunchtime.  More photos are posted in the News & Photos page.
